Wendy Williams Will Not Address Divorce From Kevin Hunter On First Show; Show Guest Says Williams Was In Good Spirits: “It Was Like A Party!”

New reports show Wendy Williams has officially filed for divorce from her husband Kevin Hunter and doesn’t intend on addressing the breakup on her first show back.

While many might think Williams would be saddened by her recently announced the divorce, a show guest informed Us Weekly that Williams was more so elated. The divorce papers were served to Hunter prior to the show’s taping. “The show taping was wonderful,” Carol Durham said to Us. “I had a great time! It was like a party.”

Durham further explained that Williams held back from going into detail about the divorce, but Williams did name drop Hunter’s name. “She did mention Kevin. She was talking about when she first had her son and how her husband was taking pictures,” Durham said, noting that Williams referred to her ex by the name, “Big Kev.”

Earlier that day, Williams even gave an audience member advice on dealing with mothers-in-law. “I’ve got to tell you this right now. I will tell you very stiff. You are 25 years old, too young to be getting married anyway, but OK,” Williams said. “Marriage is for real. You want it to be forever, you want to make sure you have the right guy. He’s got to man up and stop being a boy. Watch him.”

Williams also hinted at her divorce on the Wednesday show and decided to leave her wedding ring at home. She replaced it with a flower-shaped ring. Williams and Hunter were married for 21 years. Us reports that “irreconcilable differences” led to the two departing from the relationship.
