WILL THE REAL STEVIE J PLEASE STAND UP…

Stevie J. (born Steven Jordan) is an American record producer and songwriter. He was part of the Bad Boy Entertainment Hitmen roster of in-house producers and writers during the 90s and thus worked often with the label’s owner Sean “Puffy” Combs, producing on massive Bad Boy albums such as the debut of R&B quartet 112 and the second album from The Notorious B.I.G.: Life After Death. He also produced the hugely successful tribute single by Puff Daddy – “I’ll Be Missing You”. Outside of his association with Bad Boy he has also produced for artists including Mariah Carey, Deborah Cox, Tamia, Tevin Campbell, and Eve (with whom with he was once romantically involved and made a sex tape in 1999, which leaked to the internet in 2005). Eve took legal action against websites which had it and had it removed but is still on some websites.

Most recently Stevie Jordan founded and is a member of the production team “Danger Zone”.

Baller Alert spoke with him…check it out:

When I met the DJ Stevie J out of Miami I was shocked to find out it wasn’t you. What do you think about a DJ/Producer going by the same name?

If he put a DJ in front of “Stevie J.” then I might be cool with it, but to be honest he owes a few royalties to me! What is the next question because I have bigger fish to fry!

You were one of the Bad Boy Entertainment Hitmen. How was it working with Puffy?

It was quite enlightening, it was fun, it was one of the best moments in my life.

How did you severe ties?

We never severed ties, once a Bad Boy always a Bad Boy.

One of the other producers claimed he was blackballed by Puffy. Did he blackball you?

I wouldn’t say that he blackballed me, we have a mutual understanding. If he blackballed me, then he would be getting sued for $125 million, just like Timberland is suing his former management. Do you know something that I don’t know?

What was your favorite BIG song you worked on?

I just can’t say one, if I had to say one I would say “Notorious Thugs” featuring Bone, Thugs & Harmony.

So there has been allegations about Puffy taking his artist money, did he do his production team the same way?

Well…

Are you getting royalty checks?

Yes indeed!

Do you own any of the publishing off the hits you produced for Bad Boy?

I own 100% of my publishing and in regards to Puffy taking his productions team money we will be having major problems if that was to happen between us. Brothers don’t do that to brother’s, but do they…

Let’s talk about Eve: Did you release that sex tape?

Come on maaaannnnn! I got kids, I got baby mama’s all of which are my families, not to mention my nephews, my nieces and my father being a bishop. I wouldn’t disrespect Eve and especially my family to exploit our personal lives like that and she has family as well that love her.

Did you give her a disease like she claimed?

Never!

How do you feel about her transformation and her being down with the swirl? (Especially since it’s usually the other way around)

Well, what do you mean the other way around…I wouldn’t be opposed to that, I welcome that…whatever you say swirl is with my lady…LOL!

What are you doing now?

I am currently in the studio working on Game, Usher, Gucci Mane and I am getting at 50 Cent right now, we’d causing major eruption in the studio. We bringing back all the hitmen (Bad Boy Crew of Producers). Most of all, I am working on my solo project and I have a rock group with Danny Way (he is one of the founders of DC Shoes) and Eddie Raplife.

Since the site focuses on the ballerific lifestyle..what was the most expensive item you have purchased other than your home?

I purchased a diamond bracelet for $125,000.

How do you deal with groupies?

I really don’t, I like a woman that is classy and that has a solid foundation.

What is your craziest groupie story?

Wow! There is so many of those things. When I was on tour, when we had the P-Diddy & The Family Tour all my groupies would meet me backstage after the show, but I was with my girl so I would pass them off to all the homies (you know security, my friends and the first mode counsel).

What is the most generous thing you have purchased for a female?

When I bought my $125,000 bracelet, I bought her one. Whatever I got myself, I bought her the same.

You were ballin hard in the 90’s – how do you think the game has changed?

It’s the same game, just different players, more rats and NO LOYALTY AT ALL end of story good night! Danger Zone! For the better? No Worse? Yes absolutely, DANGER ZONE!
