Special counsel, Robert Mueller says Michael Flynn may get no jail time for providing “substantial assistance” in the Russian investigation.

On Tuesday, Mueller told a federal court that the former national security advisor might not see jail time after he cooperated with the Russian investigation. Mueller said Flynn has given “substantial assistance.”

So far Flynn has participated in 19 interviews with Mueller and other Justice Department offices. Additionally, his early cooperation gave prosecutors a roadmap for their Russia investigation and may have helped to encourage others to cooperate, the filing states and CNN reports. The new details – which have yet to be released – will support the ongoing investigation into Russia’s tampering in the 2016 presidential election.

Last week, Trump’s former attorney, #MichaelCohen, pleaded guilty to lying to Congress about his work on the Trump Tower meeting with Russian officials. Cohen also claims Trump’s former campaign manager, #PaulManafort, violated his cooperation agreement by lying to Mueller. Mueller‘s office said Flynn helped  “on a range of issues, including interactions between individuals in the Presidential Transition Team and Russia.” There are currently three topics of interests on today’s memos for the Justice Department.

Mueller says Flynn has cooperated with the investigation by revealing the links or coordination between the Russian government and Trump’s administration, according to CNN.
