Travis Scott Required For The NFL To Donate To The Fight For Social Justice Before He Confirmed Super Bowl Performance

With Super Bowl LIII just weeks away, new details about Travis Scott’s controversial halftime performance have been revealed, highlighting an ultimatum the “SICKO MODE” rapper set in place in order to seal the deal.

In December, the league confirmed Maroon 5 to take the stage for the biggest night in sports. However, upon the confirmation, many Atlantans were displeased with the league’s decision to overlook the hip-hop culture, which is deeply rooted in the Big Peach. As a result, the boyband tapped Scott to join them for the main event.

Upon the new selection, most were still opposed and encouraged Scott to forgo the opportunity, in an attempt to stand in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick and the long-standing controversy over the National Anthem.

But now, it appears Scott has come up with his own way to make a statement.

According to Billboard, Scott, in collaboration with the NFL, made a $500,000 donation to “social justice accelerator” Dream Corps. In fact, according to the rapper, he made sure the league agreed to the joint donation before he even confirmed his performance.

“I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in,” Scott said in a statement. “I know being an artist that it’s in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl Halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation. I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change.”
