As Wendy Williams embarks on her new journey as a single woman, she’s making sure to sever all ties with her soon-to-be ex, both business and personal. After previously removing Kevin Hunter’s executive producer credit from her namesake show and firing him as her manager and other half, Williams has now decided to shut down the charity the two launched together.
On Wednesday, Williams announced the dissolution of her substance abuse charity, The Hunter Foundation, but maintained her commitment “to helping others in the struggles of life” through other charities. The radio-turned-talk-show host launched the foundation in collaboration with her husband after news surfaced of her relapse, which came shortly after she announced that she had been living in a sober house.
But now, upon Williams’ decision to shut it down, sources close to Hunter say he feels Williams’ decision will negatively affect those who were employed by the charity, especially those that are recovering addicts themselves. Although, according to the Blast, Hunter believes Williams is trying to distance herself from anything related to her addiction and substance abuse, it appears Williams is just trying to rid herself of all things linked to him.
In the meantime, the substance abuse hotline is still taking calls, but according to the publication, the staff was informed earlier this week of its dissolution. It remains unclear if Williams will relaunch a similar foundation, separate from Hunter.
