We already know the infinite amount of #BlackGirlMagic that resides in powerhouses like, Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Serena Williams, but it’s refreshing to see them celebrated on the Forbes list, amongst the names of the wealthiest self-made women under the age of 40. In spite of their individual rise to fame as an athlete or music recording artists, their ranking on the highly coveted list has little to do with their earnings from their “job.” If you haven’t been paying attention, there have been significant efforts made to increase awareness around money management, financial investments, and securing a legacy that extends beyond temporary materialistic needs.
Each of these women have proven to be trendsetters and major influences in every aspect of life, and we all need to take notes.
Beyoncé has been making major moves recently with the relaunch of her Ivy Park athletics line and serious return on investment from Uber, making her net worth $400 million. We all stan the queen, but it’s Rihanna, who tops the list as the richest female musician with a net worth of $600 million, secured her fortune with her partnership with LVMH and her Fenty Beauty cosmetic line. Serena, a 23 time Grand Slam winner, has a net worth of $225 million after she invested in 34 minority-owned, women-owned startups over the past few years. She is also a co-investor for the Bumble dating app.
The future is female so, ladies it’s time to level up, get in formation, and get to business. We deserve to create a seat at the table and capitalize on the numerous opportunities for growth and financial success we haven’t always had access to.
Congratulations to these ladies for making boss moves in stilettos.
