Nearly four months after Cardi B filed to trademark her famous catchphrase, “Okurrr,” the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has denied her request.

Back in March, the rapper’s legal team filed applications to trademark the popular phrase for paper goods, clothing apparel, undergarments and more. However, the trademark was rejected because, apparently, it’s more common than she originally thought.

According to CNN, the Trademark Office said “Okurrr” is a “commonplace term, message or expression widely used by a variety of sources that merely conveys an ordinary, familiar, well-recognized concept or sentiment,” adding that it’s also “commonly used in the drag community and by celebrities as an alternate way of saying ‘OK’ or ‘something that is said to affirm when someone is being put in their place.”

In addition, government officials said Cardi’s phrase “does not function as a trademark or service mark to indicate the source of applicant’s goods and/or services.” Besides that, according to PEOPLE, the word was first heard on RuPaul’s Drag Race. In fact, the originator, Laganja Estranja called out Kim Kardashian in 2016 after she considered adding it to her Kimoji collection.
