If you’ve read anything about the disastrous Fyre Festival, then you are familiar with the ever so loyal Andy King, the unexpected breakout star of last year’s Fyre Festival documentary. Well, now, the world’s most dedicated employee is hitting the road on a tour that will work its way across the UK next month.
We were first introduced to King during the 2019 Netflix doc, FYRE, which took an in-depth look at Billy McFarland’s catastrophic island music festival. King, who was the event planner for the failed fest, became a viral sensation after he admitted in the film that he was “fully prepared” to perform oral favors in order to secure a shipment of water for the Fyre Festival, which was falling apart at that point.
Now, King is looking to capitalize on his newfound popularity, hitting the road beginning in April for the ‘Fyre-side Chat’ tour. King will spend one hour recalling his time working at Fyre Festival, which will then be followed by a 30-minute Q&A session with audience members.
Some of the cities on King’s roster include Brighton, Glasgow, and Newcastle, concluding with his show at University College London on May 2.
“It’s so great to be able to bring Andy King over to the UK for the first time as part of a national tour,” says Native Talks’ Mensa Akwasi.
“The man became a meme after the incredible Fyre Festival documentary, and we hope to bring the entertaining speaker to the masses later this month. It’s also very fitting that the documentary is now one year old, and we hope to further expand on Andy’s inside knowledge from the best event that never happened.”
