Apple has released a new iOS app and website that allows users to screen themselves for coronavirus symptoms and also includes a questionnaire and information about the virus. Both the app and website were developed in partnership with the Center For Disease Control and Prevention, the White House’s Coronavirus Task Force and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, according to CNN.
Apple reportedly said that it will not collect and store any answers to the questionnaire from its users, but it will collect anonymous information about the utilization of the tools. Apple also said that the screening tools do not require an Apple account to use.
This announcement comes just after Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that the tech giant will be donating 10 million face masks to Europe and the United States.
“Our ops teams are helping to find and purchase masks from our supply chain in coordination with governments around the world,” Cook tweeted earlier this week.
