Rising rapper Chynna Rogers died last night at her Philadelphia home due to unknown circumstances, according to a statement given to Fox News by her manager John Miller.
At the young age of 14, Chynna began her career after signing with Ford Models. While having been mentored by late A$AP Mob member, A$AP Yams, Chynna first found success in music with tracks like “Selfie” and “Glen Coco.”
Chynna released her EP “I’m Not Here” in 2015 and delivered another EP titled “This Isn’t Happening” the following year, which found the lyricist opening up on her struggles with opioid addiction.
In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, one of Chynna’s final social posts found her confirming her dedication to music as she stated, “ATTENTION i miss you. i miss humans. i miss the flow of the universe. i made a lil sumn pre-quarantine to satisfy these cravings. attention, off in case i die first, seems to hold new meaning. shows or no shows, i’ll do my best to create art & stay connected. with love, wash your hands.”
Many artists like Dom McLennon have expressed their love and appreciation for Chynna via social media. On Twitter, McLennon shared, “Chynna deserved way more love. We need to make sure to give folks their flowers while they are here to see them. This hurts so bad cause I know she was f—in next man. Her music and vision was raw as f—.”
