A Georgia deputy in Clayton County is currently on administrative leave after a video circulated on social media of him using excessive force during an arrest.

According to 11 Alive news, it is unclear of when the arrest took place of the black man, but the signage in the now-viral video shows that incident took place outside a Georgia Department of Public Health vital records office, which is just south of I-285 and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

According to TMZ, the black man, his cousin and a third person were passengers in a Lyft that was pulled over in Clayton County, Georgia. They say that they were pulled over due to a tail light being out.

The Sheriff’s deputies asked for the unidentified man’s license but he didn’t have one.  That’s when they say a deputy asked to see the passengers’ licenses. They asked the officers why they had to show ID since they had done nothing wrong.

In the video, it can be seen that two white officers are pinning down on the ground, with one of them having a hold around his neck.

In another shot of the video, one of the deputies appear to say, “He’s biting my hand.” Shortly after, one of the deputies can be seen punching the black man around his head.

The unidentified black man can be heard saying, “I’m gonna die. I can’t breathe!” Shortly after, it appears that the man’s leg begins shaking uncontrollably, and his arm goes limp. The deputies then got off of the man, who seems to have lost consciousness and bleeding from his nose.

Sheriff Victor Hill described the incident, “involving a Deputy using physical force on a man.” The unnamed deputy has been placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation.
