Kamala Harris’ campaign has canceled travel scheduled through this weekend after an aide, and a member of the campaign’s flight crew tested positive for Coronavirus.
According to CNN, Harris’ communications director, Liz Allen, and an unnamed flight crew member tested positive and were in contact with the Senator during a flight on October 8th, after the debate with VP Mike Pence.
Joe Biden’s campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillion claims that everyone involved in the campaign followed strict travel protocols.
“During the flight, Senator Harris wore an N95 mask, as did both individuals. She was not within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes with either of them,” O’Malley Dillon said.
Harris is not in what the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers close contact with either person and has been continually tested since the 8th, including a test yesterday, which was negative.
The Biden/Harris campaign still decided to scrap a planned trip for Kamala to North Carolina scheduled for Thursday (today), opting to cancel travel through Monday.
“Neither of these people have had contact with Vice President Biden, Senator Harris, or any other staffers since testing positive or in the 48 hours prior to their positive test results,” O’Malley Dillon said.
