The Village People has spoken out after former President Donald Trump played their hit record Y.M.C.A. during his final address on Wednesday.

The group has previously asked Trump not to use their music during his events. However, in typical Trump fashion, he did not listen.

“We have no ill will towards the President, but we asked him to cease and desist long ago,” the group told Fox News. “However, since he’s a bully, our request was ignored.”

In June, the group’s frontman Victor Willis blasted Trump in a Facebook post for his Black Lives Matter comments. During that lengthy statement, Willis asked that the rebellious ex-president never use their music again.

“Thankfully, he’s now out of office, so it would seem his abusive use of our music has finally ended. We hope to spearhead a change in copyright law that will give artists and publishers more control over who can and cannot use our music in the public space. Currently, there is no limit to blanket licensing.”

Trump has repeatedly used “Y.M.C.A.” at the end of his rallies, which is something that the Village People has received multiple complaints about throughout the past four years.
