The NFL has just given thousands of health care workers free tickets to the Super Bowl.
According to CBS News, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced earlier today that 7,500 vaccinated healthcare workers will receive the free tickets as a thank you for their hard work and service during the pandemic.
“These dedicated health care workers continue to put their own lives at risk to serve others, and we owe them our ongoing gratitude,” Goodell said in a press release. “This is also an opportunity to promote the importance of vaccination and appropriate health practices, including wearing masks in public settings,” he continued.
According to the NFL, all of the health care workers invited to the Super Bowl will have to have received both doses of the coronavirus vaccine. Most of those people will also be invited to work at health care facilities in Tampa and central Florida. However, all 32 NFL clubs will select a handful of health care workers from their own communities to treat to an all-expense-paid trip to Tampa for the festivities.
