Half of a graduating high school class in Texas has been suspended over a prank involving plastic forks.
Nearly 40 students at Comfort High School have been suspended and had their senior privileges taken away over a prank.
According to the New York Post, the students stuck plastic forks and spread balloons onto the school’s field at night. Photos posted online also showed the students rearranged a mounted deer head and meddled with other items in the school.
“It was a harmless senior prank that all of us parents knew 100% what was going on,” parent Hope Jay told News 4.
The school’s valedictorian and salutatorian were also involved in the prank; they too have been suspended. The news outlet reports parents have been complaining about the level of discipline given to students. The school has yet to speak out about the incident. However, the social media hashtag #freetheforkingseniors has been shared online.
“You know, they, they, you know, the kids go in and prank them while they turn around and prank the kids,” said parent Shannon Tonroy, who told the station she believed the school had suspended the students as a prank of its own. “And that would have been absolutely fantastic, a great way to have dealt with it.”
