Doja Cat was announced as this year’s MTV Video Music Awards host at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn. This will be her first time hosting.
In addition to her hosting duties, the “Say So” singer will also be performing. Doja is nominated in five categories this year, including artist of the year and video of the year. Last year the singer took home the best new artist award.
Other artists scheduled to perform include Foo Fighters, Shawn Mendes, Lil Nas X, Twenty One Pilots, Chloe Bailey, Olivia Rodrigo, Machine Gun Kelly, Lorde, and Camila Cabello.
It has not been immediately made clear if the show will go off in front of a live audience this year. Last year, the award show was primarily pre-recorded. It took place without a live audience due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The VMA’s will air on September 12 at 8 p.m.
