Nicki Minaj says that several social media platforms have shadow-banned her following her controversial comments about the COVID-19 vaccination.
The “Super Bass” star held an Instagram Live session on Monday, where she explained why her fans have not been receiving post notifications when she shares new content.
“I think I’ve been shadow-banned on a couple social media outlets because of my comments about the [vaccine],” she revealed. While Nicki did not elaborate on which social media sites shadow-banned her, many fans commented that Twitter was one of them.
Last month, Nicki set the world ablaze when she shared that she would be skipping the Met Gala this year because she was not vaccinated, which was a requirement to attend the star-studded evening. She also shared with fans that a friend of her cousin experienced swollen testicles after receiving the vaccine in Trinidad. The tweets caused such a stir that health officials in her native country investigated the claims. The Minister of Health for Trinidad & Tobago, Terrence Deyalsingh, said that the story was investigated and found to be false.
The White House even offered to have one of their doctors conduct a call with Nicki to address her concerns, though it remains unclear if that call even took place.
