The Post has confirmed that Biggie Smalls landmark New York City apartment has sold for more than the asking price.
The house sold for $2 million on December 14, 2020, three months after it was first listed for $1.7 million.
Biggie, born Christopher George Latore Wallace, lived in the home with his wife, Faith Evans, and her daughter, Chyna Tahjere Griffin, in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene neighborhood in 1994.
The two-bedroom, two-bathroom duplex is located just a few blocks from the street named after the rapper.
The 1,700 square-foot duplex condo, which has subsequently been rebuilt, was also included in the documentary “Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G.”
Caroline Duncan, a well-known costume designer who has worked on films such as “The Affair” and “When They See Us,” bought the house in 2011 and completely renovated it.
The apartment has a custom library, walk-through closets, a recently built chef’s kitchen, 12-foot-high ceilings, an arched window, a wood-burning brick fireplace, and enormous wooden beams in the expansive lofted room, which is described as a “chic artistic haven.”
“When I moved in, the basement was just a raw space with concrete floors,” Duncan told The Post. “I framed and put up all the walls and created a bathroom with barn wood and modern finishes, a massive walk-through closet to showcase my collection of clothing and accessories, a laundry room and bedrooms.”
“Upstairs had been carved into a series of puzzling small rooms so I did the opposite, and knocked down all the walls to create a lofted open space,” she added. “I loved the neighborhood, the proximity to Fort Greene Park, the fact that the building is on the Historic Register and had the bones of a true artist’s residence.”
