After Beth Davis learned her cancer had returned in 2020, she wanted to make sure he daughter was well provided for after she passed away.
Beth was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 and underwent chemotherapy. Unfortunately, in June of 2020, she learned she had developed metastatic breast cancer that spread to her bones.Â
Beth made it her mission to help her 30-year-old daughter Molly settle down, feeling a sense of urgency. She created a dating profile for Molly on the dating app Wingman.Â
Wingman founder Tina Wilson was touched by the story and helped Beth get a billboard in Times Square. The 47-foot-by-25-foot ad was placed above the crossroads of the world. “Date my daughter,” the ad says. It features a picture of Molly along with her Wingman profile URL.Â
“I’m letting my mom have the fun of filtering through profiles and responses,” Molly said.Â
The two were able to see the billboard together over the weekend.Â
“We stepped out of an Uber, turned a corner, and there Molly was,” Beth told the New York Post. “I threw back my head, my glasses fell off, and I giggled. We both jumped up and down with excitement. Most people get 15 minutes of fame. But we are getting a whole month.”
And what kind of man is Molly looking for? She said someone “smart, kind, and humorous” with the “essence of Chris Hemsworth or Ryan Reynolds.”
