The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) warns travelers against going to five Caribbean islands, including the Bahamas and Aruba.
Federal health officials are telling U.S. travelers not to go to Caribbean islands, including the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, St. Barts, St. Martin and Guadeloupe, USA Today reports. They claim these islands have “very high” levels of COVID-19. And they’ve been bumped up to its level 4 travel advisory.
“Avoid travel to these destinations,” the CDC says on its website, USA Today reports. “If you must travel to these destinations, make sure you are fully vaccinated before travel.”
When more than 500 COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people are reported in a country over the past 28 days, the CDC will move it into the level 4 category. So far, there are 116 countries in that category.
