Milwaukee residents have been left reeling after police discovered six people dead inside a home on Sunday, three of which were scheduled to testify in a murder trial.
The bodies were located after police were called to perform a welfare check at a residence. Once they arrived at 2505 N. 21st St. in Milwaukee’s Park West neighborhood, they found 23-year-old Caleb Jordan, 31-year-old Javoni Liddell, 42-year-old Charles Hardy, 43-year-old Donald Smith, 44-year-old Donta Williams, and 49-year-old Michelle Williams deceased. Michelle and Donta were married and were last seen on January 18th by their son, Kuamaine Harris, who did not live with them. Donald and Donta were brothers. It remains unclear how Caleb, Javoni, and Charles were related to the other victims.
While authorities are remaining tight-lipped in the case, they have revealed that three of the victims were going to testify during a forthcoming murder trial. Police also reportedly told family members of the victims that they were all killed “execution-style” with multiple gunmen involved.
Ronald Smith, Donald and Donta’s brother, says he has no idea who would want to harm his family members. He praised Donald for allowing people down on their luck to stay in the home when they had nowhere to go.
Milwaukee’s acting mayor, Cavalier Johnson, called the killings “horrific.” Investigators are holding four people of interest in the murders, but no charges have been filed so far.
