Kelly Clarkson‘s divorce has officially been finalized with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. Clarkson filed for divorce in June 2020, citing “irreconcilable differences” after seven years of marriage. The pair share River Rose, 7, and Remington Alexander, 5.
Clarkson will be paying Blackstock big time in spousal support and child support, by the looks of it. The lawsuit settled on Clarkson paying her ex-husband a one-time payment of $1.3 million in addition to monthly child support of $45,601.
People reports, the couple did settle on having joint custody over the children, though the children will live with Clarkson in Los Angeles. Blackstock will reside in Montana on their ranch. Since he’ll be living in the home, Blackstock, 45, will have to pay Clarkson $2,000 a month.
Also, the children must get vaccinated for COVID-19 since they will be going back and forth between parents’ homes.
Another fee Clarkson is responsible for is spousal support. She will pay Blackstock $115,000 per month until Jan. 31, 2024. The amount is lower than the original total, $150,000 per month. Though she will be paying the music manager, People says, “The court docs also state that the singer will get the family pets, multiple cars including a Ford Bronco, a Ford F-250, and a Porsche Cayenne, as well as a flight simulator. ”
“In turn, Blackstock will get the former couple’s ‘farm cattle, livestock, stock dogs, and horses,’ multiple vehicles including a Ford F-350, a Ford F-250, an ATV, and several CAT snowmobiles. He will also walk away with a golf simulator, and a couple of Patek Philippe watches.”
Kelly Clarkson has opened up about the difficulty of divorce and co-parenting in the past. She called co-parenting with Blackstock “tough.”
“It’s just a difficult thing because we’re in different places,” she previously said.
