“Cheer” star Jerry Harris was recently sentenced to 12 years in prison, but apparently, the mother of his two accusers isn’t jumping for joy.
Harris who was found guilty of child pornography charges after twin brothers Charlie and Sam accused him of soliciting them for nudes and sex. At the time, they were minor.
Their mom, Kristen said in a lengthy statement that she’s still heartbroken and angry regardless of Harris’s prison sentence, TMZ reported.
She also said every aspect of Jerry’s case is tragic, and she’s not feeling a sense of justice because she wants to see those who are running big-time cheerleading implement ways to prevent other minors from being abused.
In court, Harris told his victims that he is “ashamed as I know that I took advantage of your youth and weakness. I was wrong and selfish. I caused you to harm, and I do not blame anyone. I regret my decisions, and I am deeply sorry.”
The Netflix star was under FBI investigation since 2019 when the feds alleged he was soliciting sex from underage males at cheerleading competitions, as well as coercing them to send him sexually explicit photos.
He was arrested in September 2020.
Charlie claimed when he was 13, a 19-year-old Harris sent him a direct message on Instagram, asking his age and if he would send him nudes.
Charlie says he felt pressured to send pics because he has looked up to the star as a male cheerleader.
After that, the teen claims he continued communicating with Harris, and the two met at a cheer competition, where Harris allegedly assaulted him.
Sam claims Harris then started contacting him after allegedly assaulting his brother, and that’s when their mom started looking into their relationship after finding some of their communications.
Both provided emotional victim impact statements, which were read at Harris’ sentencing, with Sam writing, “You were consuming our innocence and didn’t care at all about how you were hurting us, but all we could think about was how to avoid hurting you or messing up your life!”
