Oprah Winfrey and Apple TV+ part ways from their content deal.

Back in January 2018, Winfrey and Apple TV+ signed off on a “multi-year content partnership,” and this Thursday, it was announced that the two are ending the relationship. As part of their deal, Winfrey would collaborate with Apple TV+ on books, films, TV and other content that would live on the platform.

Despite their exit from the partnership, the Hollywood Reporter reports the two entities will continue to work with one another on a “project-by-project basis.” This news comes just days after the Oprah Winfrey-produced Apple TV+ documentary Sidney made its debut.

Other programming brought to the streaming platform by Winfrey includes The Oprah Conversations, The Me You Can’t See, and Oprah’s Book Club – which the two will keep working on together. She will also stay on as the chief of Discovery Communications, which is supported by her cable network, OWN.
