According to officials, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown has a warrant out for his arrest after being accused of domestic violence.
The warrant comes after a Hillsborough County judge denied a risk protection order against Brown, which is designed to restrict firearm and ammunition possession by a person who poses a danger to themself or others.
According to court documents, the Tampa Police Department filed a protection order for the victim, who shares multiple children with Brown.
The document also shared that an altercation broke out between the two on Nov 28. TPD said the alleged victim and Brown had a verbal argument and later became physical when Brown allegedly threw a shoe at the victim, striking her in the head. The victim had no injuries but believed the shoe was meant for her head.
According to police, Brown also attempted to “issue an informal eviction to the victim during the incident,” in which he allegedly locked the victim out of the home and would not come out to speak with officers.
Although the free-agent receiver hasn’t played in the NFL in nearly a year, he’s been in recent headlines for his controversial takes and comments on Bucs’ quarterback Tom Brady, who was terminated by the team in January 2021.
The Tampa Bay Times stated that Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office records indicated that Brown faces a misdemeanor battery charge and that no bond has been issued.
