Murder Suspect In Takeoff’s Slaying Arrested One Day After Another Man Charged With Gun Possession In the Case

Houston police have made a long-awaited arrest in the murder of Migos star, Takeoff.

On Friday, Houston Police Department announced that 33-year-old Patrick Clark was arrested “peacefully” Thursday night, accused of being the gunman to fire the fatal shots that killed the 28-year-old. Takeoff, whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, was an innocent bystander to a heated dice game between his uncle and group mate, Quavo, and others in a Houston bowling alley. Gunfire erupted following the argument, leaving the Grammy-nominated rapper shot twice.

“We were able to deduce that Patrick Clark is the lethal shooter in the case, and that’s why he’s being charged with murder,” stated Houston Police Department Sgt. Michael Burrow.

Takeoff was laid to rest on November 11th, with his funeral taking place in Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. Migos members Offset and Quavo came together for the first time since the group’s disbandment to remember the beloved lyrical rocket.

Clark’s arrest comes one day after Cameron Joshua was arrested in connection to the bowling alley incident. While it was made clear that Joshua was not the shooter in the case, police confirmed that he was charged with illegally having a firearm during the altercation that led to Takeoff’s death. The 22-year-old is not believed to have ever fired his weapon, though it is unclear how authorities zeroed in on him and whether or not he led them to Clark.

Harris County prosecutors have not revealed why Clark began firing his gun during the situation. They have requested a $1 million bond for him, fearing that he may be a flight risk.
