Rap legend Ice-T believes he is responsible for Amazon changing its dress code for delivery drivers.
On Thursday, the rapper-turned-actor commented on an old tweet that he made referring to the way Amazon delivery drivers dress.
“Remember THIS tweet?,” he wrote alongside the repost. “Amazon actually changed their protocols after this…”

In 2019, Ice-T made a tweet suggesting the retail giant should revamp its dress code policy. The tweet came after the west coast rapper admitted to almost shooting a driver who was delivering a package to his home.
“Message To Amazon: Now that you have regular people making your home deliveries,” the original tweet said. “Maybe they should wear a Vest with AMAZON DELIVERY on it….. I almost shot a MF creeping up to my crib last night…. Just sayin.”
It is likely that the driver was apart of Amazon’s Flex program that allows independent contractors to complete local orders. Different from the company’s employees, flex drivers use their own vehicles and wear whatever they feel most comfortable in.
Nevertheless, flex drivers can access free branded apparel “to help build trust and safety in the community, while also increasing your visibility when you are delivering.” However, according to Amazon’s FAQ section on its website, wearing the company’s branded gear is optional.
It’s not confirmed that Ice-T is responsible for the change but following his tweet, Amazon’s official twitter account reached out to the rapper/actor for additional information.
