50 Cent is reportedly working on creating a new television show about British boxing.
If you love watching series produced by 50, then get ready for a new show that will be dedicated to the world of British boxing. According to Deadline, 50 is developing a scripted drama series called “Fightland” at STARZ Network.
“Fightland embodies the stakes, swagger, and ambition that collaborations between Starz and 50 Cent have come to represent,” Kathryn Busby, President, Original Programming at Starz said.
In summary, the series is about a retired, world-champion fighter whose life takes a turn after his childhood friend and training partner disappears.
South London tag-team writing duo, Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith, are deemed as the brains responsible for the twisted script. Francis Hopkinson and Katharine Leadbetter of Expanded Media will be producing the series alongside 50. In addition, Vice President, Original Programming, Sebastian Arboleda, and Director, Original Programming, Alex Alberts will also be overseeing the project on behalf of STARZ.
“We are excited to be working with Daniel and Marlon who are brilliant writers and whose authentic take will bring this global story to life,” Busby added.
The news of the drama series comes just after 50 revealed he was considering an idea for another television show. The hypothetical show will tell the story of the infamous NYC crime boss Clarence “The Preacher” Heatley.
