Fans are eager to see the Los Angeles Lakers play as its biggest star, LeBron James, inches closer to becoming the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
The 38-year-old is just 62 points away from breaking the record of Lakers icon Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record of 38,387. Currently, James has 38,325 points, racking up 26 during Thursday’s match-up against the Indiana Pacers. The NBA champion averages 30.2 points per game. Therefore, James is expected to reach the latest milestone within the next few games.
In response, ticket prices are through the roof, especially for those wanting an up-close view. For seats between the scorer’s table and the Lakers’ bench, tickets are around $100,000. Other courtside tickets are priced at $108,000. Two courtside seat tickets for the upcoming game against the Milwaukee Bucks on February 9th are going for $242,000. Obviously, less expensive seats exist, priced in the $400’s. Though, they might be considered nosebleeds with limited visibility to the court.
As James gets older, fans have become more anxious to see him play live before he announces a retirement. However, unlike most athletes whose skills deplete with years, James has progressively gotten better. Thankfully, the beloved player has not expressed plans to leave the court anytime soon, especially as the world awaits the NBA debut of his son, Bronny James, who will be eligible for the 2024 draft.
