The infamous “demon” French bulldog Ralphie has been returned to a New York shelter less than two weeks after he was adopted.
The Niagara County SPCA has described the 26-pound dog as a “fire-breathing demon,” a “whole jerk — not even half.” Despite all of that, someone was willing to take a chance on Ralphie. However, the little dog turned out to be more than she could handle.
“He went to a home not quite two weeks ago, and while the adopter had the right household dynamic, Ralphie proved to be more than she could handle,” the shelter wrote in a Facebook post. “Kudos to her, though, for making the right decision.”
Niagara County SPCA says it is committed to helping Ralphie with the help he needs and was able to find out more about the pooch from his original owner. Based on the information provided by his first owner, they decided to reach out to a trainer to help bad boy Ralphie.
He is now enrolled in an intensive six-week board and train program with an area trainer. The Niagara County SPCA will begin vetting potential adopters for the dog immediately. They are looking for someone in the area so they can bring Ralphie to follow-up training sessions.
Who should not apply? “Believers that all Ralphie needs is love. He will totally exploit that, according to the shelter. And “those who think our restrictions of no other animals or no kids do not apply to them. Just no.”
Ralphie’s bite history makes him unsuitable for a home with children or other pets. If you are interested in adopting the little demon dog, you can reach out to the Niagara SPCA at [email protected]. His training is scheduled to begin on February 20.
