Tim Norman speaks out after being found guilty in murder-for hire plot that resulted in his nephew’s death.
On Thursday, the “Welcome To Sweetie Pie’s” star posted a message to Instagram giving his opinion on the case verdict and maintains that he is innocent.
“Thank you for all the prayers,” Norman wrote. “I’m still in disbelief. The feds know 100% I did not do those insurance policies. But the jury didn’t get to hear that. And not one person got on the stand and said that I told them to hurt my nephew. They destroyed my name and image so you guys wouldn’t search for the truth.”
In 2020, Norman was arrested after being accused of orchestrating his nephew, Andre Montgomery Jr., 2016 murder. Norman allegedly hired Travell Hill to kill the then-21-year-old outside of an apartment complex in St. Louis, Missouri.
At the time, Norman denied his involvement but court documents found he took out $450,000 worth of life insurance policies on Montgomery before his death. A few days later, Norman attempted to cash in on the policies but was denied for not having the adequate paperwork.
However, in September 2022, a federal grand jury found Norman guilty on conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, murder-for-hire resulting in death, and mail fraud charges. Meanwhile, Hill was convicted of one count of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and another count of murder-for-hire. He later pled guilty to the crime in October 2022 and was later sentenced to 32 years behind bars.
