Kevin Costner’s estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, wants him to cough up a big bag in monthly child support payments.
Court documents obtained by PEOPLE Wednesday revealed Baumgartner is seeking $248,000 a month for their three children: Cayden Wyatt, 16, Hayes Logan, 14, and Grace Avery, 13. She says it’s “less than the amount needed to maintain the children in their accustomed lifestyle.”
The estranged couple, who married in 2004, have been involved in a bitter divorce since Baumgartner’s May filing.
The handbag designer also requests that the “Yellowstone” star pay 100% of private-school tuition, extracurricular activities, and sports and health care expenses. It’s also been noted that she did not request spousal support.
Costner’s 2022 income was listed as $19,517,064. Meanwhile, the family’s expenses, excluding taxes, reached $6,645,285. Some of the expenses listed were frequent trips to the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Aspen and regularly hosting guests. After factoring in all expenses and taxes, the family’s net income for the year totaled $7,595,520.
On May 1, the designer filed for divorce after 18 years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
According to legal documents submitted by Costner’s lawyers, he claimed that his ex-wife, Christine, was supposed to vacate their shared house within 30 days of filing for divorce, per their prenuptial agreement. However, she still resides in the residence though the deadline has passed. The docs also say Costner offered $30,000 per month towards a rental home for Christine and $10,000 to assist with her moving expenses. The court docs also say the actor agreed to pay $38,000 a month in child support in addition to “100% of certain child related costs, including private school tuition, books, fees and uniforms and school trips, children’s sports, camps and other agreed upon extracurricular activities,” as well as health insurance, any medical expenses not covered by insurance, and therapy costs.
Sources also told PEOPLE Costner has already paid Christine $1 million, as specified in their prenuptial agreement.
