Pete Davidson went in on a ferry with Colin Jost as a joke at first but now the comedian would like to see some profit from the purchase.
The ‘SNL’ alum said he spent nearly $280k on the Staten Island boat on a recent podcast episode with Seth Myers. He went into detail about what led up to him partnering with Jost.
He said they were both “stoned” when they decided to go through with it, TMZ reported. Next thing you know, the purchase of the ferry became a reality.
Davidson says his “business” partner called him up one day to talk business and to collect on his end of the bargain. Davidson said he received a link to wire over a deposit and then he was part owner of a ferry, and without a plan for it.
The two have apparently come up with a business model for their ferry, hoping to make it a one-stop shop entertainment hub that will feature a concert venue, a movie theater, a restaurant, and hotel rooms too.
They also have computer-generated mockups of their dream and say it’s underway, although it’s still years in the making, five years.
When Seth Meyers replied in astonishment at their plans, Davidson said: “Yeah, we have to cause we’re in the hole.” To what extent, exactly, is unclear … but it seems they do want a return on investment — because as he says, “Now I’m like stuck with a f****ing boat.”
