Danny Masterson’s wife, Bijou Phillips, is not down to play prison wife to the convicted rapist.
The actress and model wasted no time filing for divorce from Masterson just a little under two weeks after he was handed down a 30-year prison sentence. She filed the paperwork on Monday, citing “irreconcilable differences” and demanding legal and physical custody of their daughter.
Her latest move is a far cry from her support during Masterson’s rape trial and subsequent sentencing.
Last week, a source close to Masterson and Phillips told PEOPLE she was not planning to divorce the disgraced That 70’s Show star. However, her lawyer, Peter A. Lauzon, confirmed to TMZ that Phillips has had a change of heart.
During Masterson’s sentencing hearing, Phillips was seen visibly upset as she sat crying with a group of Masterson’s supporters. Phillips even penned a letter of support to the judge, hoping her husband would receive a light sentence for raping two women.

“I can say that Danny has literally been a life-saving partner to me,” she wrote, adding that she and Masterson’s nine-year-old daughter, Fianna, were “heartbroken” over his incarceration. Friends Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis also wrote letters to Judge Charlaine Olmedo, hoping to sway him, though he was not moved.
But now, as part of her decision to end her marriage, she’s asking for spousal support, attorney fees, and her maiden name to be restored.
Insiders claim Masterson is doing okay in the early days of his prison stint. Regardless, his lawyers are hopeful that he will not be there for long. They are preparing to appeal the conviction, though several legal experts have said his chances of release are slim.
