Kysre Gondrezick has vehemently denied claims that her ex-boyfriend, NBA player Kevin Porter Jr., brutally assaulted her on the night of September 11 when police were called to their Manhattan hotel.
She maintains that prosecutors have constructed their own version of events in the case and has accused them of manufacturing allegations of Porter Jr. beating and strangling her. These claims, she asserts, do not align with her truth.
Now, Gondrezick says she has hired Madison Avenue lawyer and former prosecutor Robert Y Altchiler to hold the D.A. accountable for what she says has been a misrepresentation of the truth.
“Bobby is a former prosecutor and also a law professor. I hired him to conduct an exhaustive investigation as to what was done to me, including any violations of laws, ethics rules, violations of my rights, including my privacy rights, and then undertake any and all actions to protect me and to fix and remedy and harm I have suffered at the hands of the government or anyone else,” Kysre told Baller Alert.
On September 11, Porter Jr. was arrested on felony charges of assault and strangulation in connection to an alleged domestic violence incident. Prosecutors alleged that he had assaulted Gondrezick, causing her to suffer a fractured vertebra, and that the attack only ended when the 26-year-old former WNBA player fled to the hotel hallway covered in blood. Subsequently, it was revealed that Gondrezick’s neck injury was actually a pre-existing birth defect, not a result of the alleged assault. However, from the beginning, Gondrezick consistently refuted these allegations, claiming that prosecutors had never interviewed her before releasing details. She even asserted that the day after the story broke, she reached out to them regarding the inaccuracies in their reporting of false injuries.
On Monday, October 16, prosecutors dropped one of the assault charges against Porter Jr. due to “insufficient evidence,” acknowledging that he did not break his then-girlfriend’s neck.
Gondrezick disclosed that the District Attorney issued a personal apology but is also demanding a public apology and corrective action from the DA’s office to rectify the story. The former Indiana Fever guard also revealed that she possesses recorded evidence demonstrating that the DA’s office intentionally concealed information and made false statements, all to fit their own narrative in the case.
Meanwhile, Porter Jr., still faces charges of second-degree strangulation and third-degree assault. His next court appearance is scheduled for November 27.
Gondrezick says that she has had no contact with Porter Jr. due to a protective order.
