Diddy has filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit brought against him by an individual known only as Jane Doe, who alleges sexual misconduct. The lawsuit claims that the misconduct occurred in 2003 when she was 17 years old, involving Diddy and others.
The motion, as detailed in documents obtained by TMZ, argues several points for dismissal. Primarily, Diddy’s legal team contends that the statute of limitations for the claims has expired, effectively closing the window for legal action. Additionally, they assert that the lawsuit lacks sufficient detail about the alleged incident, describing the claims as vague and unsubstantiated.
Diddy’s lawyers also criticize the lawsuit for containing a “trigger warning,” which they suggest was intended to sensationalize the allegations. They argue that the complaint is filled with “falsehoods and incurable defects,” lacking any viable claims and therefore should be dismissed with prejudice to prevent further damage to Diddy’s reputation.
The legal documents highlight that the plaintiff fails to specify when the alleged incident took place, yet claims to remember explicit details. The defense views this as a significant inconsistency that undermines the credibility of the lawsuit.
Furthermore, the lawsuit also mentions Cassie, a known associate of Diddy, and is handled by the same legal team representing Jane Doe. This connection is noted amid ongoing legal and public relations battles for Diddy, including other similar accusations and a federal investigation.
Jane Doe’s initial claim includes an account of meeting Bad Boy Records President Harve Pierre in Detroit in 2003, followed by a trip to New York City to Diddy’s studio. There, she alleges she was provided with alcohol and drugs and subsequently assaulted. Photos of the supposed meeting were included in her filing.
With this motion, Diddy aims to have the case dismissed, continuing to deny all allegations made against him.
