Gunna Has A Long History Of Supporting Women In Music

If there is one thing rapper Gunna is going to do, it’s support female artists.

This week, Ice Spice dropped the tracklist for her long-awaited debut album, and fans were excited to find Gunna included in the features. He joins Spice on the track “B***h, I’m Packin’.”

One thing about Gunna?
He gon’ support the girls! https://t.co/GzzAJBCkjQ

In recent years, such co-signs for upcoming women have become the norm for Gunna. When Megan Thee Stallion dropped her “Suga“ mixtape in March 2020, the Atlanta rapper was present on the melodic seventh track, “Stop Playing.”

As Chloe Bailey was in the early stages of her solo career, the YSL rapper collaborated with the vocalist for the single “You & Me,“ which landed on his “Drip Season 4Ever“ in January 2022. Just this year, Normani unveiled her debut solo album, and like clockwork, Gunna’s name was present on “1:59.“

Such a run appears to be a testament to Gunna’s championing of women who are fresh in the music industry or embarking on new eras.

Newcomer Tyla received the Gunna endorsement when he agreed to lend a verse to her single, “Jump,“ from her March 2024 self-titled debut. He even joined her stage to perform the song during this year’s BET Awards.

After collaborating with Flo Milli on the track “Edible“ from her “Fine Hoe Stay“ album, Gunna invited her to his Bittersweet Tour.  However, things turned ugly during a May 2024 stop when fans threw objects at Milli during her set, causing her to walk off stage.  Following the show, the “Pushin’ P” star took to Twitter to defend his opener, warning troublemakers that such behavior wouldn’t be tolerated.

No disrespect in any form @_FloMilli will be tolerated on tour . family ties 🤞🏾

Gunna’s willingness to uplift women in music has been evident throughout his career, both on and off the mic, with no signs of wavering.
