On a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan shared a surprising story with comedian Theo Von, claiming that Elon Musk had advanced insight into the 2024 election results. According to Rogan, Musk reportedly developed a private election-tracking app that allowed him to confidently declare Donald Trump’s victory hours before any major news outlets made the call.
Rogan detailed that as election night unfolded, he was exchanging texts with political figures like Tulsi Gabbard and JD Vance when he learned of Musk’s early prediction. The information allegedly came from UFC president Dana White, who was at a gathering where Musk announced Trump’s win well ahead of the official results.
“I was texting people like Tulsi and JD Vance. And apparently, Elon created an app, and he knew who won four hours before the results were called,” Rogan said. According to him, Musk had access to incredibly precise data that allowed him to analyze the incoming results and project the outcome. Rogan shared that Musk’s app took into account various state-by-state tallies, especially in rural areas that were leaning heavily toward Trump.
“Dana said [Musk] was showing them on his app, saying, ‘It’s over. Donald won,’” Rogan recalled. Musk then reportedly left the gathering with confidence that his app’s projections were correct, long before the networks declared a winner.
Though Rogan himself didn’t have direct confirmation from Musk, he found the information fascinating, especially with Musk’s history of dabbling in technology that pushes boundaries. This story comes amid increasing curiosity about the role of technology in politics and elections, particularly as Musk has invested heavily in new tech ventures. If true, Musk’s election app is another instance of his influence in the realm of information and data.
Musk’s reported ability to predict the election outcome using private data raises questions about the future role of independent tech in elections and whether real-time data apps could become accessible to a wider audience. As Rogan put it, “The whole thing’s crazy to me.”
