Freddie Gladney Jr., father of rapper Bankroll Freddie, will spend 9 1/2 years in prison for his role in a drug trafficking operation.
His sentencing follows that of his Freddie, who just a month earlier received a 12 1/2 year prison term for similar offenses. Gladney Jr., 57, was the lead defendant in a 35-person indictment that also implicated three of his sons, including Freddie. The federal judge cited the “large quantities of drugs” distributed by Gladney as justification for the lengthy sentence. His actions, the court noted, inflicted significant harm on his community.
This sentencing comes after an extensive FBI investigation into drug trafficking operations linked to rival gangs Every Body Killas (EBK) and Loady Murder Mobb (Mobb Loady) in Arkansas. The probe resulted in 58 indictments on various drug and firearms charges, highlighting the scale and complexity of the criminal network.
Last month, Freddie pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute marijuana and firearm possession in connection with drug trafficking. As a rising rap star, his legal troubles have attracted widespread attention. However, before his incarceration, Freddie was gaining traction in the rap game for songs such as “Add It Up,” “Patience,” featuring Lil Baby, and “Drip Like Dis.” He hit a roadblock in 2019 when he was the victim of an armed robbery. An ex-Atlanta police officer was sentenced to ten years in 2023 for his role in the setup.
