The severe wildfires in Los Angeles and its neighboring areas have led to the displacement of thousands of residents. Now, celebrities are coming together to add assistance wherever they can and provide much-needed relief for those affected.
Among them is actress Jamie Lee Curtis, who recently announced her family is making a $1 million pledge to support victims.
“As the fire still rages on and @calfire @losangelesfiredepartment and all the available first responders and agencies involved in fighting fire and saving lives are still hard at work, my husband and I and our children have pledged $1 million… for our great city and state and the great people who live and love there,” she wrote on Instagram.
Additionally, known for the Grammy Awards, the Recording Academy stepped up as well to offer some relief for the victims, particularly in the music industry. Alongside MusiCares, the organization has also pledged $1 million to help affected musicians.
“The music community is being so severely impacted, but we will come together as an industry to support one another,” CEO of the Recording Academy and MusiCares, Harvey Mason Jr., said.
Compton rapper The Game also joined the wave to take action to support the wildfire victims. Partnering with talent manager Travis Wilson, The Game has offered to cover the cost of Airbnb accommodations for a week for ten families that were displaced by the natural disaster.
“Me & [talent manager Travis Wilson] are helping 10 families [affected] by the fires here get into @airbnb for a week free of charge,” The Game wrote on his Instagram Stories. “Must have an identification or driver’s license with address in the affected areas.”
Paris Hilton, who also lost her home in the blaze, is also helping out fellow residents through her 11:11 Media.
“My 11:11 Media Impact Team is already reaching out to nonprofit organizations today to figure out how we can best support the communities impacted by these fires. We’re committed to offering help as soon as possible and making a meaningful difference for those who need it most,” she wrote in a lengthy Instagram caption.
As Los Angeles continues to battle the flames, the contributions from celebrities and public figures serve as a beacon of hope during these tragic times for California residents. For those who are still in need of help, visit the American Red Cross website to find more resources.
