Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’ family is preparing to take legal action against Allison Holker over her newly released memoir, This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light. Just a day after his mother, Connie Boss Alexander, and younger brother, Dre Rose, spoke with CBS News about the book’s controversial claims, they announced plans to sue.
“We, the Boss Family, are completely appalled by the misleading accounts and inconsistencies in Allison’s book,” the family said in a statement shared on Alexander’s Instagram.
Alexander, who has been vocal about her grief since Boss’ tragic passing in December 2022, says Holker’s book misrepresents her son’s life. “Her portrayal of Stephen appears to reshape his story into a narrative that aligns with her perspective,” the statement continued.
The family is also outraged over Holker’s discussion of mental health, calling her opinions “insensitive” and claiming they only add to their pain. “Stephen does not deserve this treatment, in life or death, and her accounts cause us to doubt everything she has uttered publicly and privately,” they wrote.
One of the biggest points of contention is Alexander’s claim that Holker forced the family to sign nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) to see tWitch’s body or attend his funeral. “To make me sign a document to see the child that I brought into the world—I can’t even put into words what that feels like,” she told CBS News.
Holker’s book also details alleged drug use and childhood abuse that Boss reportedly wrote about in his diary—claims that his brother, Dre Rose, says came as a shock. “This cornucopia of drugs, that had to be Googled … We don’t know anything to be true,” Rose said, adding that the family should have been consulted before these details were made public.
Now, Alexander and Rose want access to Boss’ diaries for themselves and have decided to take legal action. “Due to the unproven statements published in Allison’s memoir, we have decided to seek legal counsel to examine this matter,” the family wrote. “There are a lot of unanswered questions, and we want answers.”
