Drake’s legal battle over Kendrick Lamar’s viral diss track “Not Like Us” has taken a turn, with iHeartMedia officially clearing its name in the controversy. According to the media giant, the rapper dropped them from his lawsuit after they provided critical emails proving they had no involvement in the alleged scheme to boost the song’s radio play.

The dispute began in November 2024, when Drake filed a petition in Texas, accusing iHeartMedia of accepting improper payments from Universal Music Group (UMG) to increase airplay for “Not Like Us.” The song, widely seen as a direct attack on Drake, dominated radio stations and streaming platforms following its release.
However, iHeartMedia maintained they had done nothing wrong. In a recent statement, the company explained why the case against them was dismissed.“Drake dropped iHeart from their suit after we agreed to provide them emails showing that we were not engaged in any of the actions we were accused of,” the company stated.
With iHeart out of the picture, Drake’s legal focus remains on UMG. The rapper has accused his own record label of engaging in “irregular and inappropriate business practices” to push Lamar’s track to the top. His lawsuit also argues that the song’s content and artwork falsely suggest he’s involved in criminal activity.
