Miami might be getting a hip-hop makeover, literally.

Commissioner Keon Hardemon just proposed renaming over 20 streets in Miami-Dade County after legendary hip-hop lyrics from local artists like Trick Daddy, DJ Khaled, and City Girls.

Imagine driving down “We Da Best Ave” or turning the corner on “Trick Love The Kids Blvd,” that’s exactly what Hardemon is pushing for. His goal is to pay homage to Miami’s hip-hop roots while boosting tourism and local pride.

“This is a part of our culture,” Hardemon stated. “It’s time we celebrate the voices that put Miami on the map.”

The proposal highlights the impact these artists have had not just on music but on the city itself. From Trick Daddy’s raw anthems to DJ Khaled’s larger-than-life catchphrases and City Girls’ unapologetic energy, these names aren’t just words, they represent Miami’s influence on hip-hop worldwide.

Hardemon also sees this as a way to bring more visitors to the area, turning these street signs into must-see photo ops. Imagine fans flocking to take pics under a “305 Til I Die St.” or a “Let’s Go Blvd” it’s free marketing for the city and a nod to its musical legacy.

But not so fast, the proposal was deferred and will be back on the county commission’s agenda on March 18.

Until then, Miami waits to see if its streets will soon be repping hip-hop history.
