Rick Ross is making his car show more enjoyable for all.
After being sued by a disabled fan, the MMG mogul has pledged to make his popular car show wheelchair accessible. Darris Straughter, a disabled man who purchased tickets to the 2024 show, filed the lawsuit after the wheelchair-accessible shuttle bus failed to show up, leaving him unable to attend, and the event refused to refund his ticket.
In response to the lawsuit, Rick Ross has agreed to provide a round-trip wheelchair-accessible shuttle service to transport ticketholders to designated disabled spaces. Straughter’s attorney, John Hoover, expressed appreciation for the outcome, stating, “Thanks to Darris Straughter and the other wheelchair users who came forward, the upcoming Rick Ross Car & Bike Show will be so wheelchair accessible that even golf carts will be provided to wheelchair users.” Hoover also remarked, “This is a milestone in the ongoing litigation. Defendants continue to deny wrongdoing, but if it wasn’t broken, they wouldn’t have to fix it.”
Though Straughter continues to seek damages over the incident, Ross has not publicly commented on the situation. The next car and bike show will take place on June 7th at his “Promise Land” estate in Fayetteville, Georgia.
