A Los Angeles judge has officially scheduled a court date between T.I. and Sabrina Peterson.
The trial is set to begin on June 9, 2026, at 9 a.m., but not before both parties meet for a mandatory settlement conference with a private mediator.
That meeting must happen no later than Monday, November 24, 2025, and if either side fails to show up in person, the case won’t move forward.
This trial comes after T.I. filed a defamation lawsuit against Peterson in December 2024, accusing her of spreading damaging lies about him online. One of her most serious claims alleged that the rapper was under federal investigation for sex trafficking. T.I. says those public accusations not only hurt his reputation but also violated his privacy.
The drama between Peterson and the Harris family has been brewing since 2021, when she filed a lawsuit against T.I. and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris.
In her original suit, she accused T.I. of pointing a gun at her and claimed the couple tried to publicly ruin her image after she spoke out. She sued for defamation, invasion of privacy, and emotional distress.
But the majority of her case fell apart. In June 2023, a judge dismissed five out of her seven claims, leaving only the defamation and invasion of privacy counts intact.
Then came financial trouble. After being ordered to pay nearly $100,000 in legal fees to T.I. and Tiny, Peterson said she couldn’t afford it and asked the court for a $1,000-a-month payment plan.
By March 2025, her lawsuit was dismissed without prejudice due to lack of movement and nonpayment. The contempt charge she faced for failing to pay the court-ordered fees was also dropped once the case closed.
With her lawsuit behind him, T.I. flipped the script and filed his own. He argues that Peterson’s Instagram posts and public remarks did real damage to his name and personal life. His legal team claims her comments were not only false but intentionally harmful.
Now, all eyes are on the settlement conference this fall. If no agreement is reached, T.I. and Peterson will take their feud from the internet to the courtroom next summer.
