The WNBA is dealing with a growing concern after another game was interrupted by a sex object being thrown from the stands.

The latest occurrence happened on Tuesday, during the Indiana Fever’s matchup with the Los Angeles Sparks, marking the third incident in just seven days.
Midway through the game, play was stopped when an object came onto the court during a free throw attempt. A commentator noted on the broadcast, “Oh, look out. Something just came onto the floor. An object just flew in as the free throw is being made. It looked like that hit a player, too.”
Indiana Fever’s Sophie Cunningham appeared to be struck before officials stepped in to clear the court. The Sparks went on to win the game 100 to 91.
This was not an isolated situation. Last month, a similar event took place during the Golden State Valkyries’ game against the Atlanta Dream. Video clips show the item bouncing on the court before landing near the sideline. Another incident followed on August 1st under similar circumstances.
No individuals involved in any of the three incidents have been publicly identified. However, one arrest has been made.
According to the WNBA’s Fan Code of Conduct, fans who engage in throwing objects can be removed from the venue immediately. The policy clearly states, “Guests who engage in fighting, throwing objects or attempting to enter the court will be immediately ejected from the arena.”
With three disruptions in one week, the league may soon be forced to evaluate how it addresses fan behavior to prevent further interruptions.
