Quentin Miller, Drake’s songwriter (and alleged ghost writer), dropped a new track that leads many to think he’s taking shots at Drake – again. In the past Miller, who is credited for some of Drake’s latest lines and was also caught in the middle of Meek Mill and Drake’s feud, had dropped subliminal shots in his music. Considering the timing, many thought he was talking about Drake. In a new track called “Potential,” it appears the ATL rapper is back to his old ways.
In the song he says, “N*ggas gonna put on that hat and act like it wasn’t me doing it,” but that wasn’t all he had to say. He followed with, “N*iggas stealing the swag and think they gone get away with it,” followed by “How many albums that went platinum this year that dont got my name on it – I’ll wait on it.”
Drake’s “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” project was the first album released in 2015 to sell a million and go platinum. Four of the songs Miller is credited for, though he reportedly was not credited for a few other songs placed on the album. Also, it was reported Miller was only paid $5,000 for his work on the album. Considering Drake’s $19 million Apple deal to drop the album with them exclusively, and the huge amount Drake likely raked in from the platinum selling album, is it possible Q. Miller is feeling some type of way?
Back in September Quentin dropped a song called “Cease & Desist” where he rapped, “Gave these n*ggas some of the hottest songs of the year and I’m still underrated.” After fans called him out for taking shots, Quentin took to Twitter to claim the lyrics were not meant for Drizzy. “Yall thirsty for beef man.. Crazy.. It’s just rap… I’m a rapper in case Yall forgot. There will never be a QM diss track to that man… EVER! Sorry to disappoint. “
So if Quentin isn’t aiming for Drake, who is he constantly talking about? Only time will tell and we likely won’t know until Drake throws a shot back.
Listen to “Potential” below. The alleged diss comes in at 2:32.
