On Monday, a disgruntled former employee opened fire inside a Florida awning manufacturer, resulting in multiple fatalities including the employee’s own suicide.
According to police, the 45-year-old gunman was fired in April. During his time at the company, the man had been accused of assaulting a coworker in 2014. However, the accusation did not lead to charges and the co-worker involved was not among the victims of the shooting on Monday.
Around 8 a.m. police received a call from a woman who was inside of the business when the gunman entered. She told officials that the man told her to leave, so she ran into a business across the street to call for help. Two minutes later, officers were at the scene.
When police arrived, they found three men and one woman dead at the scene. A fourth man was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. The victims have yet to be identified.  Seven other individuals were saved “due to the quick actions of the officers who arrived on the scene today,” an official revealed.
The incident comes two days after three men attacked pedestrians on the London Bridge. However, Orlando officials have ruled out terrorism.
“We are all on heightened alert from the tragic incidents across the globe. We cannot connect this incident to any global terrorism,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Twitter.

According to reports, the shooting occurred one week before the first anniversary of the mass shooting at Orlando Pulse Night Club.
