Celebrities are the best brand ambassadors for anything nowadays. Personalities sell products.
Yet what about the iconic brands that started before you could see a fancy commercial on the TV? They still grew their fan base organically! Don’t get me wrong, the newbies do have real fans they have to reach as well. Let’s take a look at the 4 most influential celebrity shoe lines.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Chuck Taylor All Stars
The sneaker was originally created in 1917 by the Converse brand and was called “Non-Skids”. There are myths about how Chuck Taylor came aboard the Converse team. Some say he played for their basketball team (All-Stars), someday he was just an influential Converse salesmen.
Whatever the cause, he positively changed the influence of the shoe brand and its impact on the shoe culture.
Taylor’s name was added to the branding in 1932. He changed the support system built into the shoe, increased flexibility and of course he had some effect on the iconic logo.
It took no time for Chuck Taylor All-Stars to become the shoe of choice for basketball players, and even American Soldiers in World War II!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today it’s still the top-selling basketball shoe of all time and still looks cool with a pair of cuffed jeans or shorts today.

Air Jordan:
Fun Fact: When Michael Jordan became a Chicago Bull, the NBA told Jordan that if he wore his legendary red and black Air Jordan colorway, they would fine him $5,000 per game because the shoes were not regulation colors.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nike politely paid for the fine and Mike tore the court up every week with them on!
The Air Jordan’s were released to the public in 1985 and has since become the most successful celebrity shoe brand of all time.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are multiple variations, styles, and colorways of his iconic sneakers and he sponsors a slew of NBA, MLB, NFL, and WNBA players.
The shoes are prized possessions and can sometimes be resold on the underground sneaker market for double what customers pay in retail stores!
