In April, Robert Griffin IIII signed a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens to mark his official return to the NFL after almost two years.
The baller played his last game in the 2016 season for the Cleveland Browns before he was sidelined with an injury that ultimately led to the team releasing him in 2017.
However, on Thursday, after 19-long months, the 2012 No. 2 overall pick suited up for the Hall of Fame Game, in his “emotional” return to America’s favorite sport.
“People don’t understand that once you’re out of the league for a year, it’s really hard to get back in, especially if you’re a quarterback and a high draft pick. It’s just really hard to do. [Thursday] was an emotional day for me, just coming back out here. I know it’s the preseason, it’s the Hall of Fame Game, but to have an opportunity to come back out here and play football is something that I can really cherish.”
According to Bleacher Report, Griffin went 7-of-11 for 58 yards, and threw one touchdown and one interception in the team’s victory over the Chicago Bears.
